The Big Fake Wedding – Brooklyn, NY

It’s that time again!

It’s time for The Big Fake Wedding – NYC breakdown of all your chicest decor and beautiful venue space! I didn’t realize how much I did for the event until I checked out The Big Fake Wedding Blog, and it was amazing! This was my second time partnering with the BFW and I just signed up for four more events in 2018, that’s how amazing these events are! Not your average bridal show, literally you are attending a wedding(vow renewal). You get all the enjoyment like food, dresses, decor, and a band! Ask them and they will tell you how much of a fan I am. Please check out the BFW website for all 2018 dates! The Philly 2018 event will be held at Brûlée Catering’s “Moulin at Sherman Mills”, so go get your tickets now!

Continuing on with the BFW Brooklyn, I have to start with the venue. It’s ALL about the venue. This industrial building, yet European charm seriously took my breath away. It does not look like it belongs Brooklyn, by the botanical covered brick walls and the castle-esk features. I know industrial chic is in right now and if you want to be different, this is the place to go.

Along with being apart of this event, I get to create a beautiful invitation suite for the bride and groom. This was obviously an industrial space and the BFW’s theme for this event was modern, with a Copenhagen vibe. I took this theme and thought, what is Copenhagen and what does modern look like to them? Also, how can I incorporate this into an invitation suite? I then remembered in Sweden and countries around them, modern is geometrics, clean lines and simplicity. However, with those, they keep the elements they wore and used centuries ago. Those elements are fur, leather and horns. In order to stay relevant, I chose to incorporate fur into the invitation suite. I have never seen it done and I don’t like the ordinary! I then decided to keep the non-traditional look going and used handmade paper. The modern print, geometrics and the combo of handmade paper was pure gold. I then threw in an industrial piece: a giant gold safety pin. Along with navy blue envelopes, hand brushed gold envelope liners, gold writing, and handmade vellum RSVP envelopes. I incorporated an industrial/city vibe save the date and a superbly chic program. This entire suite is absolutely one of my favorites!

Not only did I create the wedding suite for this event, but I had the pleasure of working with all of the event planners! I was able to coordinate day-of details and goodies for almost all of the tables except for one! It was a true dream!

Everything went so well, I met so many amazing brides and vendors! Some vendors I still get to talk to today and some brides I get to currently do business with! It is truly an event worth going to AND being apart of. Congrats to Marilette and Moses on the vow renewal, you guys make a beautiful couple. Take care of those babies (four of them) and don’t ever stop loving each other fiercely!

Please enjoy the rest of the pictures from the event and check out this Allstar vendor team below! Thank you to Jorg Windau Photography, Wicked Petunia Photography for the amazing photos for this post.
